Aness came from the Oromiya region. Aness’ father is mentally disabled, and his mother married his stepfather, who mistreated him. Even though Aness loves his parents, because of his father’s mental condition, his stepfather’s harsh treatment, and the extreme poverty that he faced he felt unsafe and hopeless. Trying to escape his difficult living conditions, he ended up in the city streets of Addis Ababa.
